As a fitness professional, I truly believe that fitness is a global term that represents a person’s attitude towards their overall health and the term that I believe best represents this is “well being – a human ‘being’ in a contented state of being healthy, happy and prosperous in body, mind and spirit and daily life.

Well Being

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), well being is a term to describe ‘a state in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.

As a very busy fitness professional, full time executive manager, business woman and regularly teaching fitness instructor, I recognize and have come to appreciate the importance and value of well being. I believe that we all take our health for granted and as fitness professional we assume that being in fitness means we are automatically healthy in our wellbeing. Not true. It is a daily pursuit that takes self responsibility and work. I am grateful to all those individuals that I have met and worked with along my journey (you know who you are), who have helped me achieve and maintain a greater appreciation of personal well being and health. I also am passionate about sharing my knowledge in all of these areas so that I can assist others in finding the same success! I’ve now published two books in health and fitness, which are available in major books stores, and I continue to travel, teach, speak and write regularly. I have also learned through all my learning and experiences that there are many fitness fads and health gimmicks, quick fix fads and falsely marketed products available to consumers today and the key in determining which one is real and right for you is self-responsibility. I have been involved in fitness since the late 1980’s and I continually learn, train and teach new programs, share and consult with other professionals . I have been training with a personal trainer for ten years, work with a wellness coach and rely on superior level nutritional supplements to support my busy lifestyle and demanding career.
