October in Canada is a natural season of reflection—harvest, Thanksgiving, shorter days, and preparing for the months ahead. Gratitude is at the center of this season, and when paired with my interview – “A MO’ment with Mo & Laura Warf” – it takes on deeper meaning: coming home to yourself through gratitude and authentic living.
Gratitude isn’t only about giving thanks outwardly—to family, friends, and opportunities—it’s also about turning inward, grounding yourself in authenticity, and creating daily practices that bring fulfillment.
Coming Home This Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite traditions because it reminds me to pause, reflect, and give thanks. Gratitude isn’t just a seasonal ritual—it’s a compass that helps me stay grounded in what matters most, especially when life feels chaotic.
This October, as I reflect on the past year, gratitude feels especially profound.
Living and Leading Authentically
For me, authentic living means practicing what I teach in fitness and wellness. I don’t just talk about training, goal setting, and health, but I live it. Whether connecting with someone one-on-one or speaking to a large audience, I feel most fulfilled when I can show up as my genuine self.
True leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about presence and connection. It’s about helping others move forward in their pursuit of health and wellness.
A Yearlong Goal Realized: HYROX Toronto
This month, I’m celebrating a bold personal milestone: competing in HYROX Toronto on October 5th in the Women’s Open!
I set this goal last October as a way to challenge myself, push beyond my comfort zone, and test my resilience. Over the past year, I worked closely with my personal trainer Nick at GoodLife Talbot Village. He’s been with me all the way helping me building strength, endurance, and mental power.
HYROX reminded me that growth requires consistency, gratitude for what you can do, and trust in the process. I’ve been grateful not only for the training but also for the people who supported me, both in and out of the gym.
Crossing that finish line will be an incredible MO’ment—not just for the physical achievement, but for the personal growth it represents.
Gratitude as a Daily Practice
Reaching this milestone has reinforced the importance of gratitude—not only for big accomplishments but for everyday moments. This October, I’m committing to a more consistent MO’rning meditation practice with one guiding question:
“What is the one thing I get to experience today that will allow me to step into my true authentic self and live a fulfilled day?”
This simple reflection helps me align with gratitude and return home to myself each day.
Coming Home Within
This theme also resonates with my October podcast guest, Laura Warf, co-founder of the School of Happiness and author of Home Within: The Forgotten Art of Finding Yourself.
Laura’s book invites us on a journey from head to heart through gateways like Stillness, Breath, Gratitude, and Purpose. Her work is a powerful reminder that authentic living isn’t about doing more, but about connecting more deeply with ourselves.
I encourage you to listen to our conversation, share it with someone who needs it, and explore Laura’s 30-Day Come Home to You challenge in her book—a beautiful guide for reconnecting with yourself.
A Thanksgiving Reflection
As you celebrate Thanksgiving, I invite you to reflect not only on what you’re grateful for but also on how you can reconnect with yourself. What practices help you feel authentic, fulfilled, and truly at home within?
For me, it’s setting bold goals, practicing daily gratitude, and embracing wellness as a way of life.
This October, let’s come home—to gratitude, to authenticity, and to ourselves.
