“When things are not going as planned, don’t use that as an excuse to give up. Instead, use it as motivation to push harder. Never give up!” (Daily Inspirational Quotes, n.d.)

Being in situations where things don’t go as planned is a phenomenon, we’ve all experienced at one time or another. For many of us, the end of summer can be one of those times. How many things remain unsaid or undone? Summer can seem all too short, and when we set major plans and thought our summer would go one way, but because of life events which are out of our control, and those plans didn’t happen or go as planned, it can be frustrating and seem like a letdown. I certainly know how this feels.  As we approach the final full month of summer we are at a major turning point. Rather than let this last month slip you by feeling disappointed that you did not get to do all that you wanted, let me encourage you to rise to the occasion and make the MO’st of the time you have left of this wonderful season. Think about the ONE thing you can do. What is the one thing that will elevate your courage and set you up for September and a fabulous transition into fall? I hope this blog inspires you with some fresh ideas that you will consider and will help you to elevate your courage. I am going to share with you the “One Thing” I intend to use over the next month to elevate my courage and some more options you can consider trying this month. I invite you to join me in these activities!

Making Your MO’ve Means Making a Mindset Shift
As the quote that opens this blog states, when things do not go as planned, you have a choice in how you respond. Making a Mindset shift is critical to making your MO’ve. Without that, it is easy to get stuck and not MO’ve forward. There are many practices that can help you make your mindset shift and help you maintain MO’mentum. It won’t happen all at once and will take some time to make the shift stick. So, developing a practice or habit is helpful. Read on for my One Thing and MO’re!

MO’s One Thing
My One Thing this month is to commit to my 30-minute MO’rning Miracle challenge. This challenge is based on the book “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod who I got to hear speak at a conference I attended in July.

Person on stage posing with a crowd of people behind him.

For this challenge, I will take 30 minutes each morning this month to focus on his 6 S.A.V.E.R.S. These are:

S – Silence (meditation)
A – Affirmation
V – Visualization
E – Exercise
R – Reading
S – Scribing (journaling)

I will be spending 5 minutes on each of these activities. It’s amazing what 5 minutes of each can do to elevate mind, body, and spirit for the day ahead.

A growth mindset and dedicated time to purposely investing in oneself through these kinds of activities for mind, body and spirit is critical to be a leader of your life or a leader for others. It takes courage to lead and be a leader which is why l have been working on a special courage meditation as part of developing my mindset in this routine.

Do you enjoy any of these six practices? How do you or can you invest in yourself in a similar way? If you don’t have a practice in place and want to join me in this challenge, please do. You can do all six and develop a routine or pick the one activity that speaks the MO’st to you and focus on that.

It’s Always Better When we MO’ve Together
My purpose is to inspire positive change worldwide and help others MO’ve forward. As a result, I was inspired to create Women Who Influence, an event hosted by canfitpro each year, this year celebrating its 10th year. Women Who Influence was created to bring together like-minded leaders to inspire and influence each other to rise together and pursue next-level leadership opportunities.

Join me this summer at Women Who Influence to take an even bigger leap and elevate your courage. At the event, you can spend time with like-minded leaders who are committed to self-improvement and self-empowerment. Register for your seat at https://www.canfitpro.com/womenwhoinfluence/

Chance To Win a Complementary Seat at Women Who Influence!  TIME SENSITIVE OPPORTUNITY
I strongly believe in the power of MO’ving together. As a group fitness instructor, this has always been one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. One of my favourite sayings, an African proverb is that “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. For that reason, I’m inviting several of my close friends to join me at this year’s Women Who Influence. I am also giving away a free seat at my table through a social media draw to kick off the MO’nth.

Starting on August 1st through August 7th, in exchange for a social media shout out on Facebook (@Maureen Hagan) or Instagram promoting Women Who Influence and tag me @mo_hagan (this is important!) you will be entered into a contest to win a free seat at my table at this year’s Women Who Influence Event in Toronto! Check back on Tuesday, August 8th when I will announce the lucky winner on my social media channels!  All you have to do is post “My friend Mo Hagan is spearheading the 10th annual Women Who Influence event on August 17th I’m hoping to attend and wondering if you will join me.
