Just today, while out running I realized that I am a strong, dynamic, fifty-three year old woman who has been running her entire life. As an ambitious kid, I most likely started running as soon as I learned to walk.

I meet people every day who are too tired to exercise, judge running as too hard or feel I’m too old to still be running. I recognized today why I run. I love feeling physically, mentally and emotionally empowered.

Yes there are days where I run slow, there are days when I hit my stride and feel like I could run forever, and there are those days that I don’t even feel like putting on my running shoes.

But one thing is consistent. Every time I go for a run, I feel better for it! I’m moving in the direction of my goals. I’m so grateful for everyone who has influenced me to run.
